The client needed a large mature tree professionally reduced to improve safety, remove excessive end weight, and create more clearance from the nearby building and surrounding public space. The tree had become overextended with significant upper growth, increasing the risk of branch failure and shading the area below.
Our Assessment
After carrying out a full visual inspection, we identified several long upper limbs and multiple heavy lateral branches that required reduction. Due to the tree’s close proximity to the building, fencing, and pedestrian areas, the work needed to be completed with controlled dismantling techniques and safe ground management.
Work Carried Out
Turner’s Tree Surgery completed a carefully balanced crown reduction / pollard style reduction, removing the extended upper growth while retaining the tree’s healthy main framework.
The works included:
• Reducing height and lateral spread
• Removing weak and crossing branches
• Rebalancing the crown structure
• Clearing all arisings from site
• Leaving the area clean and tidy
The Result
The finished tree now has a strong, safe framework ready for healthy regrowth. The reduction has significantly improved:
